STORAGE AND HANDLING

Unlike wine, olive oil does not improve with age. Ideally it should be consumed as fresh as possible. Providing it is stored out of the light in a cool place it will have a shelf life of 2 years.

Karaka Extra Virgin Olive Oil is bottled in dark green bottles or, when in clear glass, is stored and sold in lightproof bags.

To keep your olive oil in pristine condition store in a cool dark place (low cupboard, pantry). Do not store above a fridge or in direct sunlight. Under hot conditions (+ 30 deg C) place in a refrigerator. Remove and leave at room temperature for 10 mins before using.

Stress to your customers that Karaka Extra Virgin Olive Oil should be used and not stored.

It should be stored in their pantry (not out on display).

It may be stored in a refrigerator (although this is not necessary). It will begin to solidify (turn white) and will need to be thawed before use.
